Terms of Use
This document explains the rules for using Confidey and the rights and duties on each side. Please read it carefully. By creating an account, you agree to it.
Last updated: August 18, 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Confidey, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
These Terms form an agreement between you and Confidey. They remain available on this page, and the date of the last change appears at the end.
2. Confidey is not healthcare
Confidey is a tool for reflecting on personal relationships. It is not, and does not replace, psychological, psychiatric, medical, legal or financial care.
Confidey does not diagnose, does not prescribe treatment and does not issue any professional opinion. Nothing it says should be understood as professional advice.
If you are in severe distress, having thoughts of death, or at immediate risk, seek emergency care or a crisis support service. The app also shows support lines according to your country.
The decision to act on any conversation held in the service is exclusively yours, and the consequences of that decision are your responsibility.
3. Who may use it
The service is intended for people aged 16 or over. Between 16 and 18, use depends on the consent of at least one parent or legal guardian.
By creating an account, you declare that the information provided is true and that you have legal capacity to accept these Terms.
An account belongs to one person. Do not share your credentials: everything that happens in the account is attributed to you.
4. What you write
The content you create remains yours. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to store, process and display that content for the purpose of operating the service for you.
You are responsible for what you write, including information about third parties. By mentioning another person, you declare that you do so legitimately.
It is forbidden to use the service for harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content involving minors, illegal activity, or to obtain information about someone without legitimate grounds. Accounts involved in such conduct are terminated without prior notice.
5. Connections between people
The service allows connecting your account to another person’s. A connection only exists when both parties accept.
In a connection, certain information becomes visible to the other party, according to each person’s settings. What you write in private conversations with Confidey is not shared with the other person.
Either party may undo the connection at any time, which removes sharing for both sides.
6. Sensitive data: please read this section
This section is highlighted because it deals with data the law classifies as sensitive, and consent here must be informed, specific and prominent in order to be valid.
By using the service you share information about your relationships, your emotional state and your personal life. This data is used to: operate the service for you; improve response quality and develop new features; and produce aggregate statistics.
Aggregate statistics are numbers about groups, never about you. They may be published or shared with third parties, including for a fee. That material contains no name, email, phone, account identifier or conversation excerpt: only counts and proportions computed over a large number of people.
You may withdraw this consent at any time, in privacy settings, without losing access to the service. Withdrawal applies going forward; already published statistics cannot be undone, because they contain no individual data that would allow your contribution to be separated out.
We do not sell, rent or transfer data that identifies you individually.
7. About automated responses
Responses in the service are generated automatically and may contain errors, inaccuracies or mistaken interpretations. Accuracy is not guaranteed.
The service processes content through contracted technology providers, subject to contractual confidentiality and information security obligations.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, third-party failure and events beyond our control may interrupt the service.
8. Plans and payment
There is a free plan with usage limits and paid subscription plans, renewing automatically until cancelled.
Subscriptions purchased inside the mobile apps are processed and charged by the App Store or Google Play, and cancellation and refunds follow those stores’ rules.
Subscriptions purchased on the website follow applicable law, including the 7-day right of withdrawal under Brazilian consumer law.
Prices may change. Changes are communicated in advance and apply from the following billing cycle.
9. Intellectual property
The brand, software, design, product texts and the operation of the service belong to Confidey and are protected by law.
It is forbidden to copy, decompile, reverse engineer, scrape data, or use the service to build a competing product.
10. Account termination
You may delete your account at any time, inside the app. Deletion removes your personal data, except what the law requires us to retain.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that pose a risk to other people’s safety, or upon legal or judicial requirement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Confidey is not liable for indirect damages, loss of profits, loss of data, or decisions you make based on use of the service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liabilities that the law does not allow to be excluded, including rights guaranteed by consumer protection law.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Brazilian law. For consumer relations, the consumer’s domicile is the elected jurisdiction, in accordance with Brazilian consumer law.
For people residing outside Brazil, the data protection rules of the country of residence additionally apply, where applicable.
13. Changes
These Terms may be updated. Relevant changes are communicated inside the app or by email, with reasonable notice.
Continuing to use the service after a change means agreeing to the new version. If you do not agree, you may delete your account.
